ALL IN 2023 PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING HISTORY

Today is arguably the most historic day in professional wrestling history.

5 years ago, a group friends banded together to defy all odds. They said they wouldn’t be able to sell out an arena… they did that. Shortly after, they’d join forces with Tony Khan and created All Elite Wrestling. People said they wouldn’t last one year… it’s been 5.

Fast forward to 2023. Tony Khan would make an announcement that would shake up the world of pro wrestling. He proudly announced that they’d hold a little event called All In. He then announced they’d be holding that event at one of the largest stadiums on the planet… Wembley Stadium. They said if they sold 20,000 tickets, it would be a huge win… Then 30,000… Then 40,000.

All In would quickly surpass those numbers and hit 60,000 tickets sold… with NO matches or talent announced for the card. In the blink of an eye, they hit 70,000. They went from people saying they’d get barely 20,000 butts in seats to entering conversations about breaking all-time attendance numbers.

With the monumental show only a few hours away, All In is sitting at 81,000+ and has not broke the all-time precessional wrestling attendance record. What a time to be a wrestling fan.

By no means am I sitting here saying that All Elite Wrestling is now the #1 wrestling company on the planet. For obvious reasons, WWE will always be the “top dog”. But let’s give AEW their flowers. Let’s recognize that AEW is the real deal and it is here to stay. I hope that even the naysayers find a way to put their bias aside and watch this event. Because let’s be honest, even people who don’t care for WWE still tune-in to Wrestlemania (and some of the other “big 4” events).

I’ve followed AEW since it’s very inception… I haven’t missed a single episode of Dynamite. I haven’t missed a single episode of Collision. I haven’t missed a single Pay-Per-View. Today is a huge day and I am excited beyond words to be a part of this. I’m proud of every single person who has been a part of All Elite Wrestling. From the men and women at the top to the extras, the ring crew, the security… to the fans!
