worry off my mind.

sold my scooter last night, now have a little cash in my pocket and must decide how best to invest it. but groceries will be the first purchase.

this weekend i have hopes of pumpkin carving, wine, curried sweet potato stoop, and anything fall. this weekend should prove to be a nice example of what fall feels like- and will try to get a bit of bike riding in as well.

if i said i was excited, i’d be UNDERSTATING THE HYPE OF THIS WEEEKEND. i can’t wait. i’m clocked out, and ready to catch the next bus to FUNTOWN.

fridays make me exceptionally happy, especially when i have a positive balance in my checkbook. :)

32 lbs down.

can’t believe it. thirty two. three two.

yesterday after work, i rearranged my apartment slightly- got rid of a heavy piece of furniture that was scratching my floor- and cleaned up!
man it felt good. so good.
woke up not sure where i was, but i liked it.

20 more lbs to go, and i’ll be what i think i maybe should be… we’ll see.

90% chance of rain.

I’ve been sick. sick with a nasty bug/virus who infiltrated my digestive system and made it impossible to go to work, or do much else. but i’m better now- lost a few pounds because of it- woot. and took three days for me to want to enjoy solid foods again. but with that said- lunch wasn’t that enjoyable. a medley of tofu, black beans and misc veggies – more like bland city.

last night had the pleasure of accompanying some lady friends to Borboleta – a 100% gluten free restaurant of W 6th street, here in austin. although i couldn’t eat- i got to watch everyone enjoy their possibly vegan, possibly raw food. will definitely try it out when my budget and stomach allow.

in other news, i have a craving for honky tonk and maybe some gene autry christmas music.. not sure what this craving is. also wanting pumpkin loaf and a tiny cup of chantico. man.

it’s getting cooler outside…..oooOOooOoOooo

a reminder…

it’s been two months of gluten free living.

it’s been a trial, but i haven’t had any large cysts/boils/lesions etc since i started- granted it hasn’t dissappeared, the HS- but it has taken a backseat. i knew this wouldn’t be the cure all end all, but it truly is helping.

& yesterday i tested it all- not on purpose, but by being lazy and HUNGRY. went to a local sub/sandwich place and had a club salad- with RANCH. the ranch did it. i got home and found a nice golf ball sized friend in my bikini line. i now remember what i’m doing this for- the pain and annoyance was a true wake up call.

so back to it. no more salads from that place and definitely not their ranch dressing.

my public, ha.

my sister joked that my public needs me, when i mentioned that i hadn’t posted a new blog in weeks.

this weekend i finally attended a rollerderby bout. the championship game, hell cats vs. cherry bombs. i’m glad i finally went- at first the seats we chose were subpar, but eventually we moved up higher, gaining a real view of the action. that action then led to a major injury of the cringing kind- one of the players suffered an injury to her leg which i will not describe for it hurts me too much. once when i was younger i was rollerblading in the neighbors’ drive… trying to show off and spun around- thus knocking my knee cap around the corner where it has no place, and had to push it back in order to waddle home. yuck.

add knee injuries to the list of things i don’t want to have to deal with again.

also this weekend i attended a jewerly art opening at Art on 5th. the selection was nice from the window, since i was too busy drinking the free wine, chatting & eating delicious foods from Borboleta Gourmet, i believe it to be the first 100% gluten free restaurant in austin. Plans are set to eat there next week, after pay check and before i pay all my bills :) … i enjoyed some fudge, vegan meatballs, apples with caramel sauce, delicious hummus with a nutty cracker and some baklava that i kept refering to as the “pecan pie” (sorry i can’t recall all the fancy details). i’m far from fancy- but i can appreciate some tasty treats.

down 5 lbs and going strong. rekindled love for gym- got over biking to/from or bussin- it really could be worse. cool weather is here, and i’m realizing all the clothing i will have to reacquire before it gets too cold: a new coat, long sleeves, gloves & warm hats etc.

i’m back

so i haven’t been around the past week or so-
went camping, got a new phone, ripped my favorite lazyday shorts, lost my only pair of blue jeans, and realized bike riding isn’t as bad as it was a month ago- but the cold weather will change my mind soon enough.

i’ve realized i like pretending i have options…
